President's Statement on OHSU/LHS Merger

Dear OPPA Members,

By now the news of the proposed merger between Legacy Health Systems and Oregon Health & Science University has likely reached you. In our news feed you will find public statements from both institutions regarding the impact it will have on the health care workforce, patient care, education, and research. I will try to keep you informed of new developments as I become aware of them. In conjunction with our Legislative Committee Chairs, Katy King, our Government Relations Director, will be fielding concerns from our membership if they arise and the OPPA will coordinate with the Oregon Medical Association to advocate for our members and for our patients.
